Given the daily influx of emails, it鈥檚 crucial to stay informed about the most relevant information regarding work that鈥檚 been assigned to and is managed by you. Within Workfront, there are several types of notifications that can be sent via email and through the system itself. Workfront administrators can, at the system and group levels, determine which notifications their users should receive. Once configured by the administrators, users can adjust those notifications even further to choose which ones they want instantly, in a daily digest, or not at all. Let鈥檚 review how a user adjusts their notification settings through their profile. Most administrators have already determined the necessary notifications to keep their users informed. However, as you become more familiar with Workfront, it鈥檚 beneficial to update your notification preferences. For example, if you鈥檙e frequently in Workfront, you might not need instant email notifications, since you鈥檒l see those updates directly within the system. So, if you want to change your notification preferences, go to your user profile, go to the More Options dropdown, and click Edit. Go to the Notifications area in the Edit Person window. The notifications are organized into sections. Each section has a list of notifications you can receive in regards to updates, assignments, requests, approvals, etc. Next to each notification, you can decide if you want to receive an instant notification or have it collated into a daily digest email. For example, you want to get notified the instant a team member tags you in a comment, but not when your team gets a new work request. To change the team request notification preference to be included in a daily digest email, find the My Team Gets a New Work Request Notification under the Action Needed section. If both checkboxes are selected, uncheck the box in the Instant column while leaving the one in Daily selected. The system sends out the daily digest email at a pre-selected time. However, you can choose a time that works best for you, such as before you start your workday or just before you leave. You can, of course, also do a blanket selection of each section of notifications. However, it鈥檚 recommended that you look at each notification before doing that. If you prefer not to receive email notifications at all, you can turn them off. Keep in mind that even if you turn off email notifications, you will still receive in-app notifications within Workfront. Workfront recommends keeping certain notifications enabled to stay informed about important updates. For most users, it鈥檚 helpful to receive notifications when someone includes you on a directed update, comments on your work item, or changes the due date on a task you鈥檙e assigned to. For project managers, it鈥檚 beneficial to receive notifications when a project becomes active, gets behind, an issue is added, or a milestone task is completed. So, once you鈥檝e customized your notification preferences, make sure to save your changes. And that鈥檚 it! You鈥檝e successfully updated your notifications in Workfront.
